Lebanese army slams Israel over kidnappings

The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) on Tuesday issued a statement that the Israeli kidnapping of two Lebanese citizens in the Southern town of Rmeish along the Blue Line is “a violation of Lebanese sovereignty and the freedom of its citizens.”

The statement added that “the LAF are communicating with UNIFIL to seek the immediate release of the two citizens.”

Two shepherds were kidnapped by Israeli forces earlier in the day near the town of Rmeish on the Lebanese side of the border.

Amal MP Yassine Jaber commented on the incident bay saying:

“The two shepherds’ abduction from Rmeish, the unveiling of the spy gear and the Israeli overflights prove that only the approach of resistance (Hezbollah) is of use against this enemy.”
Amal is closely allied with Hezbollah

No no no no. It doesn’t prove that at all. It proves that Hezbollah needs to surrender its weapons to the state so that the Army can protect the people. Empowering the army will be good for the citizenry in the long run because the Army doesn’t serve the interests of any one group. They serve all Lebanese

Nagdella I wish the Israeli kidnap people like you so we can live in peace in Lebanon. The LAF has to behave with the protocol of civilized nation. When Hezbollah kidnapped two israel soldiers or rather 2 dead ones Israel gave Hezbollah many oppt. to give them back without further escalating the fights. No one justified the 2006 and made it easy for israel to attack Lebanon other than Hezbollah. Stop for God’s sake ignoring the facts that israel have given you plenty of time to return the soldiers. No one is justifying the kidnapping of Sheperds but israel have the right to suspect that these could belong to hezbollah. Why so many shepperds are going close to the border anyway? stop accusing everyone who opposes you as being zionist and pro-israelis. You jackasses justified syrian, iranian control and destruction of lebanon and continued to do so. Just because we’re not technically in war with those two countries that don’t make their continued control and killing and assassinations as being friendly? they have done as much destruction to Lebanon and even more than israel. I don’t like Hezbollah but what the army said is true. You can’t just kidnap other people from borders and not expect anything to happen…Hezbollah did that to Israel and we got thousands killed in a month!

Jeez do you really think these 2 morrons are shepherd? They’re most certainly hezb members planting devices on the border. I mean for a party that uses schools and hospitals to send rockets, disguizing 2 guys and giving them 10 goats is a walk in the park consciouswise. To those who think that the weapons are really there to protect us and that these 2 clowns are really shepherds, did the weapons stop the Israelis to do what they did?
