Attack on MTV condemned by Media Against Violence

The Media Against Violence foundation on Saturday issued a statement condemning the assault on MTV’s in Beirut’s Southern suburb of Ghobeireh, a Hezbollah stronghold.

The assault occurred when the MTV team (reporter George Eid and photographer Roger Hanna ) was reporting on the construction violations . Members of Hezbollah denied them the right to film in the area without a permit from the party, the statement added.

The foundation calls on the Lebanese authorities to take the appropriate measures to arrest the party members and to not allow this kind of “militia-style” infringement to take place, the statement added.

In a related development MP Ali Bazzi, who represents Amal Movement in the parliament denied that Hezbollah and AMAL are providing political protection for those who have violated the Lebanese constructions law.

We Hezbollah always beat the shit out of Israel, but we sure love ceasefires, it gives us a chance to talk sh!t. Oh and we Hezbollah are known for our great hospitality, after all didnt we give you a nice visit in 2008? We were just checking up on our Lebanese Brothers.

I think most of your accusations are politically motivated. Although I do not like the fact that Hezbollah has to issue it’s own media passes, it is a must.

The state has allowed hezbollah to maintain its own security with intervention permissible by the state only. This means filming in designated sensitive neighborhoods must be cleared with them first. I don’t like it, but that’s the price we have to pay for our only defense. If it means preserving the sovereignty of Lebanon, then I am willing to accept.

P.S. Hezbollah does not have plans to turn Lebanon into an Islamic Republic. If it did, how could it have relations with Aoun? One needs only to read their charter.

go watch some videos on youtube Hassan Nasrallah clearly states the eventual goal is to turn Lebanon into an Islamic Caliphate. Aoun is getting so much cash from Syria nowadays he has tens of millions, in 2005 Aoun was against Syria he even accused them for Hariri’s murder now he switched like a snake. Aoun doesnt care for the Christians of Lebanon my friend, he faught fiercer against the Christians than any other sect in Lebanon.

Yes my friend Hezbollah introduced suicide bombing to Lebanon in 1983 when that Hezbollah driver drove his truck into the barracks the death toll was 220 Marines, 18 Navy personnel and three Army soldiers, along with sixty Americans injured, representing the deadliest single-day death toll for the United States Marine Corps since the Battle of Iwo Jima of World War II.

One man’s terrorist is anothers freedom fighter. I support the dignity of the state above all and hezbollah is the only party that foots the bill. They kidnapped military personnel in times of war, not civillians. They have never bombed an embassy, and the barracks you’re talking about were bombed before hezbollah’s birth.

Unless you provide proof that hezbollah has done such things you stand as a liar. Perhaps you should review facts with any bias?
