Hezbollah intentionally gave the TIME interview, says MP Youssef

March 14 MP Ghazi Youssef said on Sunday that Hezbollah intentionally gave the interview with TIME magazine in order to embarrass the government and covey a message that the decision is in its hands.

Youssef told the Voice of Lebanon that “Prime Minister Najib Mikati and the government will try to cover this issue by pretending to be serious about it and sending security forces to search for the suspects.”

In the interview the Hezbollah member indicted in the murder of Hariri boasted : “The Lebanese authorities know where I live, and if they wanted to arrest me they would have done it a long time ago. Simply, they cannot.”

Four Hezbollah members have been indicted by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), however, the Iranian and Syrian-backed Shiite group strongly denied the charges and refused to cooperate with the court.

Do you really think a guy that assassinated Hariri would openly boast like this to TIME magazine. He would be hiding far away from the spotlight in shame because of his crime.

      ummm Yes he would..

Why would he hide? If they said ‘go do an interview’, he would. In their righteousness, they boast.

yes they allowed him to do the interview
        yes they feel untouchable
yes the evidence so far can be argued circumstantial
yes their first  hope and strategy was to stop stl
no the lebanese govenment cant control them
yes it is a mockery of lebanon
yes motive is the very first step in any investigation
yes syria is the prime suspect and they had the strongest motive
would  hizbollah have had cooperated or at least had knowlage of the hit, absolutely.
i have seen cases  where  very smart people  including police officers, lawyers and judges plan the perfect crime and still get busted at the end even with only circustantial evidence but what did them in at the end was allways  motive and   talking to reporters and doing daily interviews on all major networks. so all in all the more speeches and interviews the more gets revealed to be used later.
any thing you say can and will be held against you.

if he knew he was protected of course he would do that…especially if he had orders from the sayyed-wannabe himself.

Aoun and Nasrallah are the only true Lebanese leaders, the rest are puppets.

I would not want to be a Sunni in Lebanon if Turkey invades Syria.

Or else what? You’re an Aoun supporter, commit suicide already its better than living.

      • Anonymous

Just remember that 80% of Christians in Lebanon support Aoun. No one can get to the land that supports Aoun . The Turks tried to occupy it in the 1800′s and failed to do so many times. Since you’re from the south you will be protected by the resistance. Not to worry.

      • Anonymous

80% of the Christians support Aoun! Are these facts coming from your ass? Please show me the link stating that evidence. In the last elections almost every single area that Aoun won as a majority were all Shi’ite neighborhoods.

@Beiruti:disqus Sure Keserwan, Jebeil and metn are Shite neighborhoods. And the only reason he didn’t sweep Zaheh was because of all money Hariri spent to buy votes.

      can you elaberate?

      • Anonymous

Sure, I hope nothing happens but I have suspension that the Alwaits will start chasing them out. I hear there is a saying in Syria “Christians to Beirut and Alwaites to taboot (coffin)”. That will corner the Alwaites and they will start killing Sunnis indiscriminately.

      • http://yalibnan.com geo metro

i hope nothing happens too cause if your assesment  is true sunnis are in less danger from israel than alawites,go figure .

Lets be realistic here guys, the bastard was right, he clearly stated that no one will arrest him, and he is right. Who are going to  touch these men? You think Nasrallah was joking when he said i will cut the hand off of anyone who touches my men. Lebanon is a joke when you think about it, in every single country the army fights against a militia that is not wanted in the country or a militia thats trying to create a state within a state. In Colombia the Army is fighting the FARC everyday in the jungles, in Somalia the army is fighting and has just recently defeated the Al Shebab group linked to Al Queda, in Yemen the Army is fighting against Islamic insurgents, in Mexico the Army is fighting the drug dealers every now and then, in Afghanistan the Army is fighting the Taliban almost everyday, in India the police are fighting the Naxalites once every couple months. Dont give me this bullshit saying the Lebanese army is 50% Shi’ite and wont fight against Hezbollah. In Colombia the army and militia are both Christian, in Afghanistan the army and Taliban are both Sunni, Somalia the army and militia are both Sunni, in India the police and Naxalites are both Hindu, in Yemen the army and insurgents are both Sunni. Want to know the difference between these countries and Lebanon? The military in those countries are loyal to the country and not to their religion. Thats why Lebanon is shit and will always be shit, me living in Lebanon right now you dont really feel the effects but im telling you once they start going to arrest these guys there will be a big fight (If they want to arrest these guys).
