Rebel and Palestinian sources reported that over 60 high ranking members of Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command ( PFLP -GC ) defected to the rebels and allies during the fighting in Yarmouk, Syria.

The move followed heavy fighting during which Syrian rebels, together with a brigade of Palestinian fighters known as Liwa al-Asifah (Storm Brigade), had gained ground in Yarmouk, home to thousands of Palestinian refugees.

Earlier today it was reported that Ahmed Jibril, head of PFLP -GC and staunch supporter of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, has fled the Yarmouk district of Damascus Saturday and headed to the Mediterranean city of Tartous , after 12 days of intense clashes with the rebels,

  5. Cant understand WHY any Palestinians would of supported the murderous Basher ASSad regime in the first place as he & his father are responsible for so many Palestinian Deaths in Syria .

    1. You can also question why some Lebanese Christians support Michel Aoun who sided with Syria’s regime to some extent, though he fought Syria in 1990.

      1. That is simple to answer… If the Lebanese Forces would have sided with the Syrian Regime, Aoun would reverse his politics and side against it. Aoun’s existence is to dominate the Christian decision at any cost. He has no convictions but bitterness because when he fought Syria the LF did not come to his rescue. It is the same way with this traitor Hobeyka (now burning in hell) who committed the massacre of Sabra and Shatila only to jump ship the next day and become Syria’s ally after being the dog of Sharon for a while.
When the Lebanese abandon those self-absorbed lunatics of politicians and I say without regret all of them and stop looking to the regional or international powers to support their mini causes ONLY THEN we will have a nation with dignity and respect… For now we remain the whores of external powers.
