EU’s financial support to Lebanon unchanged, says envoy

suleiman eu ambassadorCommenting on EU’s decision for listing Hezbollah’s military wing as a terrorist organization, Lebanese President Michel Suleiman urged the European Union to reconsider its decision for the sake of lebanon’s stability .

“We hope that the EU will reconsider its decision on Hezbollah to preserve Lebanon’s stability.”
he was quoted as saying following a meeting with Angelina Eichhorst Ambassador of European Union to Lebanon, who met with him at the Baabda palace to brief him on the decision and to assure him that this will not affect the EU’s financial support to Lebanon.”

“The decision to blacklist Hezbollah’s military wing does not prevent the continuation of dialogue with all political parties in Lebanon and will not affect the EU’s financial support to Lebanon,” Eichhorst told reporters following the meeting.

Commenting on the EU decision March 14 general-secretariat coordinator Fares Souaid , who is critical of Hezbollah’s involvement in Syrian civil war told LBCI:

“The European decision will complicate the process of forming the executive authority in Lebanon, as the cabinet might include representatives of a party that is on a terror list.”

    ^To preserve Lebanon s stability^,is to have one army ,no militias or any armed groups that want to control the country s political foreign policy and impose their political policies ,decide when to start a war or fight a war !!!!
